What a mobile fitting actually looks like

A case of frames, a kitchen table, and forty-five minutes. Here is the whole thing, start to finish.

People are often unsure what they are agreeing to when they book a mobile optician, so here is the whole visit without any mystery.

I arrive with the case

The full collection travels, plus whatever is newly in. You will need a table and reasonable daylight. That is genuinely the whole setup.

Measuring

Pupillary distance, the height your pupil sits in the chosen frame, the tilt, and the distance from lens to eye. Five minutes, no drops, nothing uncomfortable.

Choosing and paying

I price the frame and the lenses together, out loud, before anything is ordered. You pay at the table — card, e-transfer or cash — or I bill your insurer directly if they are on my list. The invoice arrives in your account afterwards.

The second visit

When the lenses come in I come back, fit them, and adjust the frame on your face. That visit is included, and so is every adjustment after it.
